Free throws are important. Cliché? Maybe. True? Ask the Lakers. In their fourth straight loss of the season, they fouled Gannon 22 times and Gannon converted on 74% of the free throws that resulted. In the first half, Gannon shot 11-12 from the free throw line, which is 11 points and the Lakers were down by only seven at the end of the first half. So, theoretically, if even half of those fouls had not happened, the Lakers would have gone into the half with a possible tie. The Lake State Men’s basketball team continued their struggles on Saturday as they hosted Number 2 ranked Grand Valley State University in their home opener, 78-61. Being the first home game of the season, many fans showed up to give their support. “It was fun. We lost, but it was fun.” Said Sophmore Kassandra Numan, which goes to shows that fans will weather any storm to support their boys in blue. Be first to comment this article | Add as favourites (0) |
