[Note: During the weekend of October 20, an anonymous letter was distributed across campus attached to a reputed draft of a new student handbook. See also the response from Michelle Thalacker, Director of Student Activities and Leadership Development.]

It has come to the attention of a group of concerned students that a new Student Handbook, still supposedly in draft, is being enforced even though it has never been made available to the student body as a whole.
In the spirit of openness and transparency, we have obtained a copy of this document, which is attached.
We ask that our fellow students read this new handbook closely and critically, paying particular attention to the new power being granted to members of the administration, and the new restrictions being places upon the student body.
If you feel, as we do, that the enforcement of a handbook which few, if any, of us has seen is unjust, or that the handbook, as seen in this draft, is unduly limits students, we encourage you to make your concerns known. Talk to representatives on Student Government, particularly Brandon Zajac, the Secretary of Students Services and Concerns. Write a letter to the Compass letting the whole campus know what you think about these new policies. Use the few channels of communication made available to us to make your voice heard. If enough of us speak together, in a single, unified voice, we can bring about change.
