Everyone loves the fair. There are rides, greasy food that will surely hasten your demise, animals defecating... everywhere... Okay, not everyone loves the fair. But here’s the good news: the Passport Fair has no animals and is 100% cholesterol free. Why? Look at the name. It’s a fair for passports. Worst thing one can encounter there is a paper cut.

Of course... it’s over now. So the paper cut horror has passed… until exams start. But seriously, how far into the future can one reach to be paranoid?

The event, which took place last Wednesday and Thursday, was an opportunity for any LSSU student who feels they will need a passport to get one at a discount price – 10-20%. The Business club managed the proceedings, Student Government provided the funding, and the applications went flying after that.

For anyone who hasn’t heard, the border to Canada will be closed starting next year to anyone without a passport, which means events like this are a great way for students to save money for necessary items such as pizza and videogames, and other procrastination-enabling devices.

Exam week is coming up; you know you’ve been doing it. Don’t you play innocent with the Compass.

While the opportunity for passports this time around has sadly passed, it has been said that should the demand continue, the glory of the animal, cholesterol, carnie, and mysterious mixture of a thousand smells free fair will be rolling back around... eventually, maybe next year at the same time.

Until then – watch your fingers. The scan-trons are out to get you.
