For all those that use Facebook here is a new and exciting application for you! Have friends around the world? Want to talk to them on your phone or computer for free? Well now you can through Rebtel’s new Facebook application “Group Talk”. “Do something fun, celebrate a friend’s birthday together, plan an event, or use Group Talk to schedule a free one-on-one call with someone special living abroad,” said Hjalmar Winbladh, who is the Ceo and co-founder of the company Rebtel. How does it work? You set up an event, the time for the event, add your friends to the application, then when the time for the call event starts you and your friend dial the conference number and you will be connected! It’s as easy as that. You can also include people who are not Facebook members by inputting their name, mobile or landline phone numbers, and email addresses. The only issues that seem to arise from this application is the fact that the dialing is not direct. Instead of being able to call your friend(s) directly, you have to set up a time for both you and your friend(s) to call a conference number to be able to talk. That aside, it’s free calling to any of the 40 participating countries which includes the United Kingdom, Australia, and the United States. Although remember that you will still be charged for local call rates on your landline or minutes on your mobile depending on your plan. All applications are free to add and accounts are free to set-up. Rebtel has also developed another Facebook application called “Let’s Talk” that allows you to directly call anyone within the participating countries without international calling rates. They are both worth the look if you do not have an international calling plan on your phone or you are just curious about it.
