[Webmaster's note: This article is a joke. It's kind of like "April Fools" but without the "April Fools". Got it? Please do not take it too seriously.]

Word was leaked to the press early Tuesday morning that Wile E. Coyote spoke to a lawyer over the weekend.  What was he discussing with the lawyer?  A reliable, and anonymous, source stated, “I was minding my own business, mopping the floors, you know? And what did I hear?  None other than Wile E. Coyote talking to Mr. Johnny Perles about suing ACME!  I could hardly believe my ears.  He has been a loyal customer to them for years, you know.”

Some sneaky detective work led to more information.  Wile E. Coyote has filed a lawsuit against ACME stating that they have engaged in false advertising.  Wile E. Coyote willingly chatted with reporters. “I have ordered products from them for years now, and not a single one of them worked like the dang-blasted company said.  It was not until I met Mr. Perles in the local diner that I realized I could take legal action against them.  I will be a millionaire!”

Does Wile E. Coyote actually have a case?  Some think so, especially his lawyer.  “Mr. Coyote came to me with quite the conundrum.  He has lost so much money to that rip-off of a company.  I just can not believe no one else has held them accountable ‘til now.”  Unfortunately for Mr. Perles and Mr. Coyote, ACME has filed a counter-claim.

ACME feels that Wile E. Coyote’s claims are “ludicrous” and “outlandish.”  Mr. Will Thiefkins, President of ACME, released a statement to the press, “Mr. Wile E. Coyote has been a faithful customer for years and has never once had a complaint.  It is our belief that he has filed this lawsuit out of greed, and our company will not put our name on the line so that he may collect a financial gain.”

How will the lawsuits play out in the court systems? Only time will tell.  Open court sessions begin Monday at 10:00 AM at the Courthouse on Main Street.  That’s all folks!
