[Webmaster's note: This article is a joke. It's kind of like "April Fools" but without the "April Fools". Got it? Please do not take it too seriously.]

As the search for alternative fuels continues, scientists and engineers from Belgrade Solicia, the leading foreign investor in alternative energy announced today that they have found a renewable source of energy for electric cars. This is done by having people wear a thermal suit that retains the heat produced while ventilating the person wearing it. This radiant/conductive heat is transformed into electricity through special Nan Chips found throughout the suit. When the suit is fully charged it can allow for a vehicle to be driven twenty miles by one single human unit of energy. The transfer of energy from the suit to the vehicle is done by attaching a cable to the outlet of suit which is located on the left hip of to the Nan Charger which is an adapter that is placed on the battery of the vehicle.

The suit is in its early production and new models are to appear early in 2010. The suit comes in flat gray and can be worn underneath everyday clothes. The suit is somewhat water proof and is found to receive the best charge when the person wearing it is physically active. The possibility of the suit’s energy use is uncertain. When the creator of the suit Dr. Dagrew, a physicist who has been working on this idea for eight years was interviewed; when asked what made him think of this idea for alternative energy he commented “Well you have to consider the average person moves around a lot and all that friction between their arms and thighs turns to heat. Now heat has been used to benefit man for many different things such as steam engines, car heaters and creature comforts. I think of this as the next step.”

Rigorous testing is still needed to confirm the safety of the product and costs are expected to be high. This may not be a cheap alternative energy source but with the increase in petrol and decrease of supplies this may be the next best thing.
