THE PUBLIC SAFETY REPORT March 30, through April 12, 2008 The Lake Superior State University Public Safety Department reports the following activity: At 0155 on Wednesday, April 3, officers were called to the Village and arrived to find a resident suffering from too much imbibing. The resident had vomited all over the room but could not tell officers how much he had consumed. Officers contacted both Sault PD and Fire and Rescue and the resident was transported to War Memorial Hospital. Also on Wednesday, April 3, a student attending class in the Norris Center passed out and struck his head on the floor. Luckily, the class was being taught by paramedics, who rendered aid until the on-duty EMS crew arrived. On Saturday, April 5, patrolling officers observed a subject camping in the snow bank behind South Hall. The subject, who had been seen in various sites around campus previously was told to leave and issued a trespass warning by the city police against returning. A student working with the custodial crew in Brady Hall left his MP3 player in the custodial closet while on break on Monday, April 7. When he returned, he discovered that someone had taken the player but left the earphones behind. Also on Monday, April 7, an Osborn Resident stopped in at the Public Safety office to report the theft of her laptop from Chippewa House. After supplying information about the complainant, the complainant asked that officers not do anything until she had tried to talk to the residents of Chippewa House one more time. In addition to the above actions, the Public Safety Office handled the following routine activities: 37 weapons escorts, 120 room admits, and 5 motorists assist. We also received 12 lost and found property complainants, assisted maintenance with 8 problems, handled 6 alarms and policed 1 accident that occurred on campus. Add as favourites (0)
