Do you like ghosts, goblins, witches, and things that just freak you out?  If so on Friday October 24th and Saturday the 25th the LSSU Dance Company will be putting on the second annual Haunted Hall.  The Haunted Hall is located in abandoned portion Marquette Hall in dorms C, E, and F. Marquette Hall is located next to the arts center on campus. On Friday night shows are from 8:00pm-10:00pm and from 9:00 until midnight on Saturday. The admission to the Haunted Hall on Friday and Saturday is $5.00 and $4.00 for students with current stupid ID’s. Everyone is cautioned these are adult shows and not are recommended for young children, but there will be a children’s show on Saturday from 4:00-6:00pm. The children’s show will include tattoos for $1.00 and admission during this time will be $3.00.

“The Haunted Hall is a major fund raiser for the Dance Company and it supplies them with costuming and all materials needed to produce there shows and for the dance education outreach programs we do.” Said Deborah Choszczyk the dance company director.

Deborah and her husband Daniel have a lot of experience with putting on haunted halls. They started designing them several years ago at Northern Michigan University, and Daniel did some downstate as well. “Daniel is a make-up and special effects artist and has kind of been the one to pull it all together, and if you ask him he will tell you he just does it to support the Dance Company” Said Deborah.   Last year the dance company thought it would be a good idea to try them out here at LSSU, and it was a HUGE success. Kayleen Cooper a sophomore attended the Haunted Hall last year “It was really spooky and the students that acted were absolutely frightening.”  It was such a success last year that this year they decided to add more scary rooms and more actors as well. Chelsey Bergman a freshman at LSSU and an experienced Haunted House attendee has this to say “I have been too many haunted houses and have grown immune to them, but I am hoping that this one really scares me.”

Deborah is looking to make the Dance Company as asset to the community; to try and bring revenue into the program. “It is also a great way for students to work together, the dancers and actors from the theatre department, drama club, and students from all departments and interests have stepped up to help is out!” She said.

So remember Friday October 24th from 8:00-10:00 pm and Saturday the 25th from 9:00-Midnight to come out to the Haunted Hall and support the dancers and everyone involved. Admission is $5 without student ID and $4 with. Make sure to bring any little brothers, sisters, or children to the children’s show on Saturday from 4:00-6:00pm. The Haunted Hall is anticipated to be bigger and better than last year and you won’t want to miss it.
